A sweet romance, especially given all the circumstances. An awful lot of progress in 3 or 4 generations.

This is a wonderful story, the last paragraph is something we need to remember and would solve a lot of our current strife, "partners in life" working together. Thank you, Andy

Yes, that's all any of us can hope for. And hope springs eternal.

Nice story and I always love your stories from that time.

I really liked it....I guess mainly because of the fact that I was born and raised in southwest Kansas, and this story reminds me some of the Laura Ingalls Wilder "Little House" series.

This author consistently produces A-/B+ stories across a wide range of romantic situations. Always a pleasant read. The writing is always clear and crisp. Just a minor correction: when one’s load is heavy, it bears lightening, but when there’s thunder there’s lightning.

Another lovely story from a master of the genre. Brought tears to my eyes, darned spring pollen I guess?

This story reminded me of the stories an employee of mine read on the half-hour bus ride to and from work. They were called Harlequin Romance Novels, and they invariably included a young woman falling in love with a young man who had rescued her from some pending tragedy. Ronde has added a sex scene (this is Literotica, after all), and we have a complete love story. Well done.

5*s. Thanks for the nice story. And yes, I do know people who live in a dug-out house, completely underground. They are totally in love, devoted to each other. Thank you for the memories.

A beautiful picture of marriage. 5, as usual for Ronde!

Preachers and ceremonies do make a marriage. In essence, marriage is the commitment of a man and a woman to each other for as long as they both shall live. Millenia ago a woman named Rebekah made a commitment to leave her homeland and be the wife of a man she had never met, a man committed to be the husband of the woman his father's servant brought to hm. When she arrived they just began to live together as a husband and wife. God blessed them and their sons founded 2 nations, The younger of the twins was later given the name Israel.

Really great story, could not have been better. Just the right mix of sorrow and happiness of two wandering souls. Yhanks

AnonymousAnonymousabout 2 months ago

An old couple told me that when they were young, people got married because they were a comfortable fit together, and they agreed on most of the big issues... religion, politics, etc. They realized that if they worked towards building a life together, love would come. Nowadays, everyone wants to be in love before marriage, and those marriages fail because they haven't put it the effort ahead of time dealing with life.

Women tend to be the central characters in my stories, because I find their complex personalities to be fascinating. My stories come from my life experiences or the thoughts inspired by people I have met. I am an avid fan of history and especially the history of the America...
